Academic Personnel: Faculty Training and Development

Throughout the academic year, the Office of Academic Personnel sponsors a number of brown bags, workshops and other programs to assist UC Davis faculty in their professional development.

New Faculty Workshop - September 22, 2008

The New Faculty Workshop is offered in the Fall Quarter of every year. It consists of a day-long annual overview and orientation for the new faculty.

Discussion topics include: Building a successful academic career, personnel process and dossier evaluation, and shared governance.

New Faculty Brown Bags

New Faculty Brown Bags are monthly topical lectures for new faculty designed to assist new faculty with their orientation to the campus and to provide them with useful information to assist in their success.

Topics include: Orientation to the Office of Research, Grantsmanship, and Preparing Your Dossier.

Grantwriting Links and Resources

Information on grantsmanship to assist UC Davis faculty with understanding the fundamental components of a proposal, networking with potential granting agencies, and learning about available resources.

School of Medicine Faculty Development Workshops

Sponsored by the School of Medicine Office of Academic Affairs, the School of Medicine offers a Faculty Development Program that strives to align University resources around faculty recruitment, retention, diversity, and development.
