Leadership
Development Program
The Leadership Development Program is intended to enhance leadership
at the faculty and department chair levels. It is designed to build
on existing skills necessary to guide the organization in new and
even more productive directions. The program uses
case studies to connect broad concepts to specific behaviors, and
is offered in a six-day block. The style and pace allow for application
of new concepts and skills on the job, followed by feedback during
sessions on what's worked and what hasn't--and why.
A
benefit to this program is the opportunity for faculty and Department
Chairs to share their experiences and perspectives, and to build
personal relationships with peers. Previous attendees have commented
that they enjoyed meeting with other Chairs, and looked forward
to continuing those relationships. The Vice Provost is considering
ways to provide ongoing opportunities for alumni of the Leadership
Development Program.
